Introduction
The R. M. Desai Library–A Learning Resource Centre has grown slowly from its origin in 1981 to its present size. Library aims to serve the needs of Faculty, Research Scholars, Students and other members of the library by providing an excellent collection of literature. The well-furnished and air-conditioned NMIMS Library is located on the 7th floor of the Usha Pravin Gandhi (UPG) building and is spread over 6,340 sq.ft. with a seating capacity for over 130 students. The Library is divided into three sections: The Reading Hall, the Staff Area and the Stacking Area.

It has a rich collection of books, journals (Indian/Foreign), audio-visuals, CD, VCD, annual reports, management games, newsletters, etc. The Library has a collection of more than 45,759 books covering not only all aspects of business and management but also including related areas like Economics, Behavioural Science, IT, Law, Engineering, etc. The library also supports the newly introduced 5 schools of NMIMS Deemed-to-be University in Mumbai Campus i.e. Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering, School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Balwant Seth School of Architecture, School of Science, School of Commerce. The collection is continually being updated and information of a more international nature is being added. Latest additions are on display.

The Periodicals section constitutes 367 business journals, Indian as well as foreign, and is a vital source for academic research and up-to-date business information. Back issues of some important journals from 1986 onwards are available.

The audio-video reference library and management games are regularly updated on management and related subjects. The institute has an in-house audio-video viewing facility. The Library also has an extensive collection of newsletters and annual reports since 1986.

The Library has an open access system facilitating the free use of material on the shelves.

Alliances: The Library has linkages and is developing a network through the associations. The Library is a member of BCL (British Council Library).
